Around two in every five GPs in the South West have said they intend to quit within the next five years, according to a survey carried out by the University of Exeter. The findings of the survey provide insight into the possibility of a future healthcare crisis, especially if the picture is the same across the rest of the UK. The GP survey also found that seven out of ten GPs intend to change their working patterns in a way that would mean less contact with patients.
