Regular BJFM contributor Dr Sharon Raymond is facilitating a one-day training course covering the mandatory level 3 requirements for safeguarding children, as specified in the intercollegiate guidance.
The training course, which will be held at Leroy House, London N1 3QP, will cover the key principles, legislation, safeguarding processes, complex and challenging cases and the learning from serious case reviews. Sessions will be interactive and include a supervision element.
Dr Raymond is a GP with a special interest in safeguarding. She is an independent safeguarding trainer, lecturer and author of journal articles and a handbook on FGM. She is a member of the FGM NHS London steering committee and works as a Named GP for safeguarding children for a London CCG, and is an out of hours GP. She has worked as a clinical lead and organisational safeguarding lead in the unscheduled care setting. She has authored an RCGP-accredited course highlighting the challenges and golden rules of out of hours work. Dr Raymond also works as a medical member of the first tier social entitlement chamber, and as a GP Appraiser.
