Oncologists, haematologists and palliative care specialists want more training in giving bad news, the third annual pan-European Building Excellence & Continuity in Oncology (BeCOn) Summit was told. The summit was hosted by Teva Pharmaceuticals and held in Barcelona. During the summit, oncology specialists discussed the mounting evidence that effective and empathetic communication with cancer patients and their families can enhance decision-making, and positively impact patient quality of life and satisfaction with cancer care.
