People are being urged to get tested for hepatitis C, after new data revealed a lack of awareness about the disease, Public Health England (PHE) has said. A study commissioned by The Hepatitis C Trust showed 80% of people were aware of the hepatitis C virus (HCV), yet less than 40% knew it infects the liver, and less than 30% knew the virus is curable.
